Everything you need in one place

With Mother you get project management, sales and lead tracking, customer details, and online quoting and invoicing all in one place. If you are a web professional, you can also make use of the domains management feature. Mother’s aim is to give you, whether you a web professional or in another sector, a single online tool for managing your business. So you can view a customer’s details, as well as seeing what projects and possible projects you have going for them, what quotes (accepted or not) you have sent them, and what invoices and their payment status relate to them, plus notes, uploaded files, and what domains you manage for them (if you’re not a web professional you can switch this part off). Cut that information the other way by project, and you can view the information you need, when you need it, easily.

Track every stage of your sales and delivery cycle

Mother classifies everything as a project – whether it’s a lead (just a possibility), an opportunity (something you are actively working on and have quoted for), or a job (an agreed project that is now in the build stage). With built in online quoting and invoice generation, every stage of your sales cycle is covered.

Multi-user collaboration

Invite users to access your account with a simple email invitation process, and then let them see what you want them to, including global settings like whether they can see details of estimates and invoices, or down to project level so they can only access the ones you want. Users can comment on actions on projects, and that conversation then becomes part of the project information. Down the line, we have lots more planned in this area, including aggregation of all the Mother accounts that one person might have access to, plus finding and inviting others with complementary skills to collaborate with on a project.

Mother knows that internet based “Software As A Service” is the future! Access your files and information from anywhere and on any device. There is no worrying about whether you have the latest version – you always will have. And without expensive upgrade charges or the need to install new versions of anything. And with state of the art datacentre hosting, and full backup and export facilities, security of data is never an issue.

Based on the “Getting Things Done” principle

Getting Things Done is a book by David Allen, a world famous productivity guru. Mother uses (at least) one of his core principles of defining the Next Action for any Project you are working on. David defines a project as absolutely anything that requires you to perform a set of actions, whether that be renewing your passport, or working on a complicated web development project for a client. By defining the next action for everything on your list, you always know what needs doing, and you also maintain an emphasis on moving “projects” forward. With Mother, that means converting that lead into an opportunity, an opportunity into a job, and a job into a (paid) invoice!

Free to try with no time limit

Mother doesn’t believe in time-limited trials. How often have you signed up for a trial and then not got around to looking at the service until just before the expiry? With Mother, your free account is not time limited. You only get three projects and one user, and you can’t upload files, but we think that’s fair, and as your project count does not include archived projects, you will be able to get a good feel for the service at your leisure.
