More About Mother…
Mother is a new web application for businesses including cashbook, accounting and project management applications. If you recognise any of the following then Mother can help you. Do you:
- spend large amounts of money subscribing to various different subscription based web apps
- spend large amounts of time duplicating data between these
- miss opportunities due to lack of co-ordination of your different databases
Mother is the ideal business management application for small to medium service businesses. With Mother, you can keep track of you leads and opportunities, convert them to quotes when the time is right, and when they are accepted and turn into live jobs, you can even invoice (in stages if necessary) and keep track of project actions and progress. In addition, Mother provides a full cashbook service including VAT return facilities. For web professionals, you can also keep track of your customers’ domains and hosting in the same place, making Mother a complete suite of business management tools.
With Mother you get project management, sales and lead tracking, customer details, and online quoting and invoicing and a cashbook all in one place. If you manage a large number of web domains you can also make use of the domains management feature. Mother’s aim is to give you a single online tool for managing your business. So you can view a customer’s details, as well as seeing what projects and possible projects you have going for them, what quotes (accepted or not) you have sent them, and what invoices and their payment status relate to them, plus notes, uploaded files, and what domains you manage for them (if you can switch this part off if you don’t require it). Cut that information the other way by project, and you can view the information you need, when you need it, easily.
Mother allows you to track every stage of every project. All actions can be recorded on Mother along with quotes, invoices notes and files. All in one place available 24/7 where ever you are.
Invite users to access your account with a simple email invitation process, great for sharing information across teams and with your accountant. You control what you want to let them see, including global settings like whether they can see details of estimates and invoices, or down to project level so they can only access the ones you want. Users can comment on actions on projects, and that conversation then becomes part of the project information. Down the line, we have lots more planned in this area, including aggregation of all the Mother accounts that one person might have access to, plus finding and inviting others with complementary skills to collaborate with on a project.
We knows that internet based “Software As A Service” is the future! With Mother you can access your files and information from anywhere, on any device. You don’t need to worry about whether you have the latest version – you always will have. All this without expensive upgrade charges or the need to install new versions of software. With state of the art high availability data-centre and full backup and export facilities, security of data is never an issue.
Getting Things Done is a book by David Allen, a world famous productivity guru. Mother uses (at least) one of his core principles of defining the Next Action for any Project you are working on. David defines a project as absolutely anything that requires you to perform a set of actions, whether that be renewing your passport, or working on a complicated web development project for a client. By defining the next action for everything on your list, you always know what needs doing, and you also maintain an emphasis on moving “projects” forward. With Mother, that means converting that lead into an opportunity, an opportunity into a job, and a job into a (paid) invoice!
Mother doesn’t believe in time-limited trials. How often have you signed up for a trial and then not got around to looking at the service until just before the expiry? With Mother, your free account is not time limited. You only get three projects and one user, and you can’t upload files, but we think that’s fair, and as your project count does not include archived projects, you will be able to get a good feel for the service at your leisure. Upgrade is quick, easy and secure via our secure payment service – just choose the monthly plan that is right for you.
